floating the little river

for the 3rd july 4th in a row, over a dozen friends and i went to emmy's dad's house outside knoxville for a weekend of easy camping, hours of river floating, grilling out and fireworks. river john (papa) owns a 1-acre island outside his house, and hosts fantastic camping, rafting and canoeing trips on it along the river. 

with favorite pool float in hand, we're dropped off further up the river. then, we float back down, with drink-filled floating coolers at our sides, and end up at the island 5 to 6 hours later. 

it's heaven!
